This music was recorded by a group of musicians that met through the Traditional Jazz Societys in Oregon. They met each other either through employment or from a personal contact. Collectively they are multi instrumentalist with associations in the theater, string ensembles, rock and country bands and music of the big band era. This CD is an archive recording from the early 1990's. It was recorded with the intent of being used as a demo CD.
Although not all the songs are from the 20's, they are stylisticly representitive of that era. "Dippermouth Blues," "Some Of These Days," "Deed I Do," "Sugar," and "Hard Hearted Hanna" were published in the Roaring 20's, the other songs were written in the same style. The Instrumentation is the classic Traditional Jazz Style, Trumpet, Clarinet, Trombone, Bass Sax, Drums, Banjo/Guitar, Piano, and Vocals. I hope this recording brings a smile to your face and a bounce to your step. |
